Supplier checklist for employees

The market for newplacement/outplacement providers is quite opaque. Here are the most important criteria for choosing the best provider.

This is important for you

When choosing a provider, we recommend paying attention to the following aspects:

Flexible individual support

Everyone brings different experience, emotional resilience, and support needs. That's why it matters that you have a say in the focus and pace of your support, rather than being pushed through a rigid program.

Quality & Experience

Coaches providing one-to-one support should bring deep expertise, professional coaching credentials, and a proven track record.

Focus on Career Orientation

A good provider helps with more than the job search itself. They also support the broader career reorientation, including identifying personal skills, interests, and career goals. A "success guarantee" can be risky in this context: it often pushes employees into the first available job with as little effort as possible, a role in which they may not be happy.

Using Modern Tools

Modern digital tools, such as online guides, self-assessments, headhunter databases, CV optimization, and a reflection journal, free up coaches to focus on what matters most: meaningful, in-depth conversations.

Professional and Emotional Support

A positive, optimistic mindset accounts for more than 50% of success in a career transition.

Sufficient Coaching Duration

Newplacement programs shouldn't be too short. With a cap of three or six months, support may end before the next step is even clear. And if it runs out right in the middle of the application phase, it can create real pressure and uncertainty.

Cost transparency

Coaching packages and other components of the offer should be transparent to avoid excessive margins for the provider. High-quality support should not cost more than €4,000 plus VAT.

How does newplacement work?

At Restart Career, we support affected employees in four phases over a period of up to 12 months.

Farewell & Reflection

Step back, process what you've been through, and reflect with intention. Which strengths have carried you? What worked, and what didn't? You'll gain clarity about your experiences and lay the groundwork for your next step.

Goal Setting

Drawing on your strengths and your current life situation, you'll shape a clear vision of your future. Which role fits you? What should your ideal work environment look like? You decide where your path leads, with a direction that feels both realistic and motivating.

Seize Opportunities

You take your next steps – towards a job or self-employment. We optimize your profile, activate your network, and guide you through the application process. This way, you won't miss any relevant opportunities.

Restart

The new beginning is here – and the first few months are crucial. You'll find your footing in your new role, overcome challenges, and build confidence. This is how your fresh start will be sustainably successful.

Some things are best clarified through personal exchange.
