Training & Coaching
Conducting separation discussions professionally and respectfully
A termination meeting is a defining moment for those affected and often an overwhelming situation for those in charge. We prepare your managers and HR professionals for it: with sound psychological principles, practical exercises, and, if needed, individual sparring before the actual meeting.
Psychology & Emotions
Understanding the perspective of those affected: What happens emotionally? What reactions can occur and how do I deal with them? What do people need to process the shock and be able to look ahead?
Do's & Don'ts
We highlight the most common mistakes and how to avoid them. At the same time, we provide best practices for preparation, execution, and follow-up. We also examine our own attitude: how leaders can demonstrate empathy without siding against management or overextending themselves.
Practical exercises
In the intensive format, we practice specific conversation scenarios, formulate key phrases, and simulate reactions. In group or individual coaching sessions, we clarify open questions from your own project or regarding specific upcoming conversations.
Dismissals are common – good separations are rare.
For companies, termination is often an administrative act; for those affected, it's an emotionally devastating event with lasting repercussions. Current studies show that for more than one in four employees, dismissal comes without any warning, one in seven receives no explanation at all, and nearly one in three is angry with the company or the manager after the separation. This anger manifests itself externally: in review portals, on social media, and in public perception.

Training, sparring – or both
We recommend a combination of interactive on-site training in a small group and individual coaching directly before or after the upcoming meetings.
In addition to the training sessions
Sparring to prepare for a specific conversation
Practice first sentences, simulate reaction patterns
Follow-up: Reflect on reactions, stabilize.

Strong impact both internally and externally
"The discussions were a significant emotional burden for our managers. The training and coaching not only helped to give the managers confidence, but also enabled those affected to make a better start on a major personal transformation journey. Despite the difficult situation, we received praise from those affected for the professional and respectful discussions."

Easier separations, protected culture
A separation is easier if those affected can achieve emotional acceptance through a respectful conversation and are able to commit to the next steps.
Fewer obstacles, negotiations, or unfair dismissal claims
Visible appreciation spreads to remaining colleagues.
The risk of a poor employer brand rating decreases.
