Receive and pass on support
In some cases, the budget is insufficient to offer employees affected by job cuts truly effective support with their career reorientation. Upon application, the Federal Employment Agency pays a subsidy of up to €2,500 per person for support measures provided by a certified organization. As a certified provider, Restart Career's outplacement program is eligible for funding – please contact us.
That's what matters
The following aspects are worth considering:
Operational Change with Job Cuts
Permanent job cuts or organizational change, i.e. an operational change under Section 111 of the German Social Code Book III (SGB III), with early notification of the Federal Employment Agency. The affected employees must be at risk of unemployment and must have registered as job seekers. Internal transfers are not eligible for funding.
Transfer counseling carried out with the Federal Employment Agency (BA)
The Federal Employment Agency (BA) advises the parties to the works agreement ahead of the decision on introducing transfer measures, in particular during social plan negotiations under Section 112 of the Works Constitution Act (BetrVG). This transfer counseling is a separate eligibility requirement, and failure to comply with it rules out funding.
Negotiated reconciliation of interests / social plan
The social plan includes outplacement services and integration-promoting measures such as sprinter bonuses, not exclusively high severance payments, which are seen as hindering integration.
Measure provided by a certified provider
The outplacement service is provided by an external provider with AZAV certification. The measure must serve the effective reintegration of the participant into the labor market. Restart Career's outplacement service meets the necessary requirements.
Timely application
The application for funding must be submitted and approved before the project begins or before the service provider is commissioned. Funding is available for a maximum of 12 months. The employer initially bears the costs; the subsidy is then reimbursed retroactively.
